This year will be the first year that my husband and I have not embarked upon a journey to the Rainbow Gathering with the missions team from Steiger Minneapolis .
We hope someday (maybe next year) we can join them again. This year, we feel called to stay in our hometown and minister here. The Bible study had a newcomer this week, which only serves to confirm that our decision was from God.
I will personally miss the Gathering terribly, however. I do not recommend anyone to go on a whim, for it is a rough place in many ways. But the people there are hungry for something, but they don't know what it is. It's like that spiritual itch they cannot reach. Jesus talked about this to the woman at the well in John 4.
I pray for Joe, Pixie, Preacha Randy and his tribe, and all the other wonderful folks I met there through the years. This would have been our tenth year in a row.
God speed to the Steiger team and the Jesus Kitchen- we will miss working with you all!

Sounds like fun, but you'll be doing good things wherever you are!
Wow! Looks like fun, too! Sometimes you just have to daydream about rainbows.....
until the next one smiles on you!
I'm sorry you can't go. I have never been to one but have had friends that have. They have all said that it can be intense but pretty cool.
The pictures don't really do justice to the harsh environment that is there- and I'm not talking about the fact that you're in a national forrest. The spiritual harshness is very hard to stomache for me. I've seen little kids as young as 7, 8 or 9 hustling for drugs for their parents. It's not pretty.
Don't get me wrong, I have a deep love for the people I have met, but I feel for their situation, too.
We're glad to keep you for now . . .

Interesting... sleeping coach?
Have a great time in your hometown anyways.
Sorry you cannot attend this year. I know how much you enjoyed going. I almost LMAO when you said for me know to go and take Reiyne. I think my days of random travel and smelly hippies is over....Although it seems that Ray and I have breeded a little Hippie of our own. Keep shining sister.

Glad you could take the joke!
Reiyne is turning into a little hippee, isn't he?
He sure is cute, though- he'll be a little heart breaker. You should lock him in a room when he turns 13 and don't let him out til he's 25 cuz the girl thing might be a real problem for him!
Love ya!
thank you for your kind words about my blog post...everyone's power is the Holy Spirit, even if the don't know or understand it...keep up your good work and visit anytime...blessings, rebecca
Hey LP! (I hope it's OK to call you that?)=)
Thanks for the visit to my blog. You seemed like such a sweet person with reguards to the comment that you left, so I came over to your blog to see that I was right! You have a wonderful blog..and you ARE a wonderful person. I agree with Dan, you will be doing good things wherever you are!! Keep it up!
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!!
Wow! That's a tradition for you and I can understand the sadness you might feel from not going, but it sounds like you know your calling, and staying home is it. Maybe you'll get another fun-filled outing this summer with your family ;) Be well...
sorry you aren't going it is looks like a good time.
Sometimes God just wants you home. And it's nice when he tells you in a clear manner like that.
I've never heard of these guys, but it really sounds pretty cool!
