Why I love Autumn

  1. Sun shining through golden leaves
  2. Wool sweaters
  3. Smell of wood stoves
  4. Smell of wet leaves
  5. Watching squirrels stash their food for the winter
  6. Fresh orchard grown apples
  7. Pumpkin Pie!
  8. Hay rides (yes, we still do those in the mid-west!)
  9. Sudden whirlwinds of leaves flying down our street
  10. Hot apple cider
  11. Coffee tastes better when it's cool out!
  12. Walking the dog and kicking leaves
If you have never read the description of a Wisconsin fall in "Travels with Charlie", you need to!

Enjoy your Autumn, everyone! I am!

Oh, yes! I love autumn, too! You delight me with the comforts you find in this precious season. You're the second person in less than 24 hrs to mention "The Travels of Charlie"...maybe I need to get that.

Peace.

Hi Lizard Princess :))
I love Autumn too and it used to be my favourite season, the turning of the leaves the slow change into winter and a reminder for us to look back at what has been gained over the year and to get ready for the contemplation of winter.
Mind you as I get older I find that I am now leaning towards spring. The early shoots of life showing and starting to blossom and looking towards planning for the warmer months.

Mind you, what the blooming heck am I talking about??? I live in England where there seems to be a distinct lack of seasons!! We seem to get all 4 in one day here!

Take Care

Such a wonderful list.

Wish I could experience autumn at least once. I really like the colors autumn brings... unfortunately only from pictures and on TV. Sigh!

GZ- Yes, perhaps you should!!

Anonymous- Thanks, Dad!

Lime- Sorry to hear that (the allergies)! I like tea, too!

Mel- I love spring, too! I love the first smell of fresh dirt in the spring!

Imran-
You simply must come visit an area with an autumn sometime if you could ever swing it. It's lovely!

I love the advent of all seasons and despite the global changes still look forward to the changes on my way to work every day. Yesterday the windscreen on my car was all misted up for the first time this year, the schoolkids had jackets and coats on, babies had rosy red cheeks and runny noses in their pushchairs and the leaves on the trees were looking yellow and brown....

Lovely description, Tanie! I quite enjoyed it.

I find it hard to stay positive in Autumn as the nights draw in. Thanks for reminding me how beautiful it can be :)

Fresh orchard-grown apples? Hot cider?

Yeah, pretty much anything "apple" makes autumn a great, if too short, season.

Hope everything is colorful in autumn there. Just stopping by to say hello again.
